79% Excellent

The animation belongs to the Slice of Life and Comedy genre, so don't ask A Channel for a deep story or an advanced World view. However, you are allowed to love characters that are very cute inside as well as outside. Surprisingly, it also focuses on creating and directing animation. The cover and title of the anime do not give us any special expectation, but the charm of this anime surely heals our tired heart. I hope you will enjoy this work in which cute girls spend their daily lives in a unique tempo.

2. Synopsis

Tooru and Run have been best friends forever, so when Tooru learns that she’s managed to get into the same high school as Run, she runs to tell her… only to find Run in a compromising position with yet another girl, Yuko. Needless to say, that makes things a bit awkward at school, with Tooru fending off those who might be interested in Run while Yuko and their other girlfriend, Nagi, have to deal with Run’s own penchant for drama.

3. Character’s Way of Speaking

Run/Momoki Run is popular with both men and women. Run has a cheerful personality and is a typical female high school student, so it is a good character for listening practice. Her lines are very good for listening to Japanese learning because she speaks very naturally in any scene.

Because Tooru/Ichii Tooru’s voice is low and small, her lines are difficult to hear. You must understand that she does not use honorific expressions for Run, Yuuko, and Nagi, who are one year older, which is the opposite of a very close relationship. Generally speaking, even high school students need to use honorific language to their seniors.

Yuuko/Nishi Yuuko is a high school girl who speaks Kansai dialect, so her first name is “Uchi”. The differences in intonation and the endings of “xxx やった” and “xxx やろ” are characteristic of the Kansai dialect. Her way of speaking is so clear that it is not difficult to listen to her lines even in Kansai dialect.

Nagi/Tennouji Nagisa is the most common person. She speaks in masculine tones, such as “xxx だ” “xxx しろ” and “xxx だぜ” and naturally uses masculine words, such as “デカい” and “ウマい”. In fact, there are girls who use masculine words in Japan, so she is a real high school girl. She also uses youth language such as “ウザい” “超” and “パネェ”.

Yutaka/Imai Yutaka is a character who loves his classmate, Toru, and always speaks honorifics. She has intense emotions and emotional expression in the tone of her voice. Taking her emotional expression as a hint, listening would be easier.

Miho/Noyama Miho is a man of common sense, speaking a little softly and feminine, but speaking clearly makes it easy to listen. But she’s a little cold and strong to Yutaka, so listen to the difference.

4. Terms and Talking Contents

For a work depicting the daily lives of high school students, the content of the conversation is young. However, there is no story in this anime, so there is no problem even if you don’t understand the words. It is suitable for studying Japanese because it uses plain Japanese. As it is a daily story, there are many words related to life such as “雨女” (あめおんな), “精が出る” (せいがでる), “小雨” (こさめ), etc. In addition, words related to schools such as “受験” (じゅけん, examination), “日直” (にっちょく, daily duty) and “偏差値” (へんさち, deviation value) are also found.
