The Meaning of Kanji
磨穿鉄硯 (ません てっけん, Masen Tekken) means keeping a strong will and not changing until you achieve things. A parable that strives hard to study. It is a four-character idiom that turns from the meaning of studying so much that the iron suzuri (鉄硯) made of iron is worn out and drilled. “磨” means wear and tear. “穿” means to make a hole.
